One person. One daughter. One problem worth solving.
Hi, I'm David. I built Lumijo because my daughter needed help with her homework, and I wasn't always there to give it. That's the whole story, really. What you see on this site is the result of a lot of late evenings and one very patient kid.
Why it exists
The moment
It happened on a Tuesday. She came through the door with her school bag, sat down at the kitchen table, and spread her homework out like she always does. I could hear it from the other room, but I was still on a call. That gap, between when she needed help and when I could actually be there, is what Lumijo tries to fill.
The experiment
The first version was rough. It could barely explain a fraction. But she opened it, typed her question, and something clicked. Not because it gave her the answer (it didn't), but because it asked her the right question back. She figured it out herself. I came in twenty minutes later to find her already done.
The point
Lumijo is not trying to replace you sitting next to your child at the table. That time is irreplaceable, and your child knows the difference. This is for the Tuesday afternoons when you simply can't be there yet. Something patient, something that guides without giving away, something that cheers when they get it right.
